The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
This position is in direct support of the Department of State’s (DoS) Worldwide Aviation Support Services Contract encompassing scores of RW and FW aircraft operating overseas in direct support of US diplomatic and engagement efforts in various nations. Working from Pucallpa Peru, and various Forward Operating Bases, this position serves as the principal Armament Technician in support of the DoS counternarcotics support mission. Responsible for the accountability, maintenance, and training for program weapons, ammunition, and other explosives material and act as the subject matter expert in this train, advise, and assist mission. Report directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibility:
Maintain an arms room IAW Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Storage regulations.
Maintain 100 accountability of weapons, ammunition, flares, and other munitions assigned to the program.
Be prepared for both scheduled and no notice arms room inspections.
Prepare briefings and serve as the subject matter expert on assigned weapons.
Train, advise, and assist aircrew in the full spectrum of crew served weapons support.
Complete inventories and maintain required documentation of all assigned weapons, equipment, and ammunition.
Conduct individual responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
Complete accurate inventories, Mission Information Systems data, and Daily Report entries.
Responsible for daily operations of the arms room and accountability of all weapons and assigned equipment.
Responsible for safe and efficient issue and collection of assigned weapons.
Train, advise and assist host nation personnel assigned to an Armament Program.
Conduct assessments and provide written reports to in-country leadership team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
