- Manage a varied ER caseload ensuring consistent and timely resolutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on ER matters in line with company policy and culture, UK legislation, ACAS and risk mitigation.
- Provide best practice and commercially focussed advice internally and, on occasion, with a level of risk assessment detailed.
- Ensuring accurate data, documentation and recordkeeping throughout all ER processes.
- Support managers with drafting letters and reports related to ER case documentation.
- Manage longer term or complex ER cases ensuring that all internal and external options have been considered and advising on appropriate direction.
- Support with collation of ER reporting and monitoring of ER trends to share insights with assisting in shaping company policy and training.
- Deliver and support manager training on ER and employment law updates and how it impacts company policy.
- Support the collation of any documentation in relation to external proceedings and liaising with the ER Partner.
- Support the annual Trade Union negotiations in relation to contractual benefits, including pay.
- On occasion working with the wider People & Culture team on people related projects.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience of applying Employee Relations principles with a commercial mind-set.
- Experience of providing ER advice across a business.
- Experience of collaborating with colleagues in order to achieve the best results.
- Proven track record of managing complex ER cases.
- Ability to spot opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
- A thorough understanding of UK employment legislation.
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and ability to influence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of assessing ER risk.
- Work experience in a similar role.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a matrix-type organisation.
- A CIPD, degree or other relevant qualification.
