SUMMARY: Plans layout, fabricates, installs, and repairs air conditioning systems in Commercial and Industrial applications by performing the following duties:
Plans new or modifies installations in a manner consistent with OEM specifications and local applicable codes.
Must have the ability to maintain and repair a variety of HVAC equipment including but not limited to Split systems, VAV boxes, Air handlers, Low and High pressure Chillers, Valves, Pumps, Pneumatic Controls, Cooling Towers, Chill water systems, Charge recovery and utilize all types of refrigerants with universal EPA certification.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
Inspects and measures airflow to determine building requirements.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to pass Aptitude test.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to operate a fork truck and a man lift.
Ability to operate HFC recovery system.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk electrical shock, and places. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. The employee occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
HOURS: Must be able to work any shift. 1st shift 6am - 2pm, 2nd shift 2pm - 10pm, 3rd shift 10pm - 6am.
