Lead Statutory Controller is primarily responsible for overseeing financial controlling activities, annual filing preparation of accounting trial balances and meeting other consolidation requirements for our branches.In addition, the candidate will support statutory accounts preparation, including technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis for the Italian Legal Entities.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities
Ensure all branch filings are completed timely and efficiently and support the preparation of tax documentation required for the permanent establishment (PE)
Track financial transactions and ensure accurate financial reporting for the branch
Support financial activity related Stat-to-GAP/IFRS reconciliation
Assist with Internal Audit and SOX Activities
Coordinate and cooperate with external and internal auditors
Collaborate with centralized service teams, including leading regular meetings and checkpoints, and oversee accounting activities
Drive and promote compliance with local laws and GE policies
Work closely with commercial and operations teams to understand accounting implications of transactions and other matters
Provide technical accounting/financial reporting advice and support, consulting with Aviation Controllership team and external auditor when appropriate
Document key accounting policies/procedures
Ensure business assets & G/L accounting activities have functional integrity & proper controls
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field and strong progressive accounting or finance experience
Deep knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
Experience of accounting closing processes and procedures (e.g. Intercompany transactions, Balance sheet deep dives, account reconciliation)
Strong communication and analytical skills
Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Fluency in Italian and English
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of Local GAAP
Strong understanding of global process and transactional flows
Adaptable and flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
Experience working in a matrixed environment
Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP/HFM)
