ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
At SITA, were not just shaping the future of travel; were revolutionizing it. Join our dynamic team at SITA Lab, the strategic technology research arm of SITA, where we push the boundaries of whats possible in air travel. Collaborating with airlines, airports, and technology experts globally, we explore cutting-edge technologies like ML, Agentic AI systems, Real Time Event Streaming, IoT, Robotics, and Mixed Reality to transform the travel experience.
As an Innovation Senior Developer at SITA Lab, youll ideate and design demos, prototypes, and MVPs, working closely with our clients to bring innovative ideas to life. This role offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in emerging technologies, design transformative solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Play an active, hands-on role across the entire software development lifecycle.
Lead technical decision-making and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Design and architect solutions, write code, implement tests, manage build pipelines, and troubleshoot deployment infrastructure.
Work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Stay current with software development best practices, tools, and trends.
Communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and customers.
Contribute to shaping the future while working alongside a passionate and talented team.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in microservices software development, particularly with Java and Spring Boot.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, passionate about experimenting with new technologies and solving business problems using an agile, fast-iteration approach.
- Skilled in designing, building, and troubleshooting infrastructure for highly scalable messaging systems, who can also clearly communicate the business impact of technical decisions.
- A strong communicator who excels at leading discussions, building consensus, and articulating priorities with clarity.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Extensive experience in designing and managing highly scalable, distributed microservices architectures.
- Deep expertise in DevSecOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka and cloud-native deployments (AWS, Azure).
Strong experience with Spring boot, or similar frameworks.
Solid background in REST & WebSocket messaging patterns and libraries.
Strong object-oriented software analysis and good analytical skills.
Experience with LLMs
Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Elastic Search.
Familiarity with Python and machine learning model training and deployment.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
