Roles and Responsibilities

  • Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of feature, whole feature area or entire embedded software product. Some areas of expertise may include, but is not limited to, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, databases or applications. May be responsible for the creation of an entire product.[Small teams will use this DAW to include all phases of design/Development cycle all the way to Release]
  • Typically a 1st line manager of professionals or a 2nd line manager of a professional department. Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
  • Plan, manage and optimize teams resources. Execute the planning, financial, resource development, technics and compliancesessions.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Embedded SW Development. Knowledge level is comparable to a Masters degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Masters degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • Leads and monitors team progress.
  • Plan, manage and optimize teams resources. Execute the planning, financial, resource development, technics and compliance sessions.
  • Achieve the goals established by the business, such as OTD, PSC, budgets, growth, etc. 
  • Technical Contribution: Lead the execution and assess of Engineering Activities to meet project needs.
  • Quality: Ensure that Quality of Deliverables, Quality Management Systems, Continues Improvement and General and measurement of Quality objectives are met.
  • Global interaction with cross functional teams, to be able to collaborate in areas related to his/her work and to assure the requirements of the technology/process that he/she is responsible for the implementation of compliance plan and activities.
  • Collaborate with other GEIQ Avionics Managers on strategy definition, resource sharing, and workload management

  • Solid Software Engineering knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Critical Airborne Software development
  • Understanding of AS9100 quality standard
