Position Summary
Performs preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair work to maintain and enhance buildings, facilities, machines and equipment. Participates in rigging, moving and erecting all types of machine tools and equipment for new installations or plant layout changes. Dismantles and reassembles conventional machines and participates in dismantling and reassembling complex machines, including but not limited to CNC machine tools and all rubber and accumulator related equipment, undergoing repairs and overhauls.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
v Performs all regularly scheduled preventive maintenance inspections as prescribed by quality assurance and maintains records.
v Diagnoses and corrects mechanical and electrical troubles to involve repairs and replacement of controls, motors, switches, devices, etc. Assists in diagnosing and correcting electronic troubles. Replaces and fits bearings, bushings, gears, shafts, etc. using a broad range of hand and machine tools. Makes all proper adjustments to insure accurate and efficient operations. Performs building maintenance duties of electrical, heating & cooling, carpentry and plumbing.
v Works from general assignments and proceeds with supervision and direction. May assign work to and instruct, train and assist other employees, including but not limited to maintenance trainees or apprentices. Assists Plant Engineer with ordering maintenance supplies and spare parts, and participates in troubleshooting involving the machine tool manufacturer.
v Requires judgment within limitations of general methods and standards. Works from drawings, sketches, specifications and instruction manuals. Uses advanced shop mathematics and a variety of measuring devices which require interpretation in various applications. Uses variety of mechanical and electrical tools to perform work. May do welding, brazing and fabrication when required.
v Performs proper and safe material handling utilizing bridge and overhead hoists with lifting devices, and variety of forklifts.
v Maintains a high degree of quality, quantity, safety and keeps work area clean.
v Participates in the Parker Lean System and High Performance Work teams.
v Other duties as required by the position.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5+ years experience
- Demonstrated experience in the following skills: electrical, hydraulic and mechanical machine repair.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly and more than 40 lbs. occasionally, with assistance.
- Requires the use of general mathematics.
- Requires the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and handbook formulas.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

- The hourly pay for this position is $31.46 per hour with the ability to earn up to $38.88.
