Summary:
Safely perform assembly and fitting of structural parts, drilling, riveting, sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation on aircraft.
Adapt to new tasks with minimal impact on production schedules and goals.
Rivet structural members, assemblies, and parts using portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, files, reamers, and rivets; remove fasteners without damaging structures.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine operations, hole patterns, and material specifications. Use adhesives, sealants, and solvents per SOPs.
Check work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection.
Assist and instruct team members on blueprint interpretation and engineering orders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production difficulties.
Maintain and use all logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs.
Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners; shape and form complex angles and configurations per specifications.
Perform repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Requests (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO); ensure installations meet conformity standards.
Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, support the company 5S & Lean Initiative Program, and comply with all safety regulations; use PPE as required.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Properly use, maintain, and return company-provided tools and equipment.
Follow SOPs when operating ground support equipment.
Collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags correctly.
Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft.
Exchange job-related information and coordinate work activities between shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 4 years of related structural assembly experience
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
Q-Stamp preferred
Basic computer skills and shop math
Ability to read and comprehend documents, instructions, and scales
Strong hands-on aptitude, attention to detail, professional attitude, and teamwork skills
Skilled in close-tolerance work and use of special tools and equipment
Experience working with composite resins and materials
Ability to work any shift
Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs; work in confined or restricted spaces; lift up to 50 lbs
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
