Morson are exclusively recruiting a Logistics Controller on behalf of Safran Nacelles in Burnley.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded aerospace manufacturing environment in Burnley, supporting shop floor operations through effective inventory control, material handling, and logistics coordination within a fast-paced production setting.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and reporting on inventory activities to ensure high levels of stock accuracy and efficient material flow across the manufacturing unit.
The position requires a hands-on approach, supporting both inventory control and daily material handling activities on the shop floor, while acting as a key interface between manufacturing, stores, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and perform cycle counting activities to maintain stock accuracy above 98
- Ensure 100 completion of annual cycle counts
- Investigate, manage, and escalate inventory discrepancies
- Organise and maintain point-of-use inventory storage
- Coordinate material flow between stores, suppliers, and production
- Support shop floor operations, including moving parts between work centres
- Analyse inventory performance and report against defined metrics
- Identify root causes of performance issues and implement corrective actions
- Support urgent production requirements and prioritisation of work orders
- Maintain availability of materials, containers, and equipment to support workflow
- Participate in stock takes, audits, QRQC meetings, and improvement projects
- Support wider supply chain activities, including subcontracting where required
Project Environment
You will be operating within a structured aerospace manufacturing facility at Safran Nacelles, supporting production teams by ensuring materials are correctly controlled, available, and aligned with operational requirements.
The role sits at the centre of shop floor logistics, working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and planning teams to maintain performance, accuracy, and efficiency across inventory processes.
About You
- Proven experience in inventory control or logistics within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of cycle counting and stock accuracy processes
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, shop floor-based role
- Strong communication skills when working across multiple teams
- Good working knowledge of Excel (intermediate level)
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Proactive, organised, and able to work autonomously
