Job Description:
We are seeking an entry-to-mid-level Systems Engineer to generate requirements and provide general support to the development of a virtual crew drill trainer software application that simulates a tactical missile system in a first-person 3D gaming environment built using Unreal Engine. The software systems life cycle support includes concept development, requirements generation, verification testing, defect resolution, and software release. Excellent fit for applicants with exceptional problem-solving skills and basic understanding of software or electromechanical systems. Work will be as an individual contributor performing as part of a multi-disciplined scrum team in an agile development environment. Will require interfacing with tactical system Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and adhering to contract deliverable formats & standards.
You will be joining a multidisciplinary team which will allow you to learn new skills and give you exposure to the fully lifecycle development process – from requirements definition through implementation, testing, and release. This position provides opportunity for growth and increasing levels of responsibility including exposure to project & program management. There is also occasional travel domestically and internationally to support customer test events, data collection, and development of foreign military partnerships.
What you will do:
Research tactical system concepts using schematics, functional block diagrams, tactical system data, parts lists, CAD drawings, and technical manuals.
Generate requirements documents for software engineers to implement training scenarios in existing software application
Coordinate with software engineers during implementation.
Test software in accordance with requirements documents.
Document, track, and help resolve software defects.
Work in a fast-paced environment that demands both accuracy and detail
This position requires travel up to 10 of the time
Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than two (2) years of prior relevant experience OR an advance degree.
Experience using Microsoft Office product(s)

Qualifications we prefer:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Analytical, problem-solving mindset
Experience in Agile processes and scrum
Experience with requirements generation and configuration management
Familiarity with Technical Manuals and procedures; military experience ideal
Understanding of principles of object-oriented design
Understanding of requirements concepts, systems engineering life cycle, modular system architecture, and systems development
Understanding of radar systems and gaming simulation concepts
Understanding of basic coding concepts, ideally surrounding Unreal Engine

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
