This role will execute and deliver on visual creative outputs by interpreting spaneting briefs, providing design solutions, ensuring excellence in final file deliveries and maintaining high quality assurance in the final product. This role works collaboratively with a Copywriter to provide creative solutions that meet the brief requirements from the Air Canada Cargo global spaneting team.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative thinker who excels in a collaborative environment and is comfortable with technical, operational, and B2B communications. They are excited by creative and storytelling and understands how to visually communicate the brand in engaging storytelling and B2B environments. This role is expected to be hands-on executional. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the spaneting team to translate business objectives into compelling visual designs that align with brand guidelines and spaneting strategies.Develop graphic designs for a range of spaneting materials, including print, digital, video, trade shows/events, website landing pages, social media, and sales collateral, etc.Adapt and version existing concepts to meet specific project requirements, ensuring all outputs are consistent with the brand identity.Provide design support to internal stakeholders by producing graphics, resizing and reformatting materials, and delivering final files ready for production.Edit graphics and photos using pixel or bitmap editing, airbrushing, masking, and image retouching techniques.Support updating and maintaining global brand guidelines, offering recommendations for local adaptation and identifying fixed and flexible elements within the design system.Ensures adherence to the Air Canada/Air Canada Cargo guidelines and design systems.Engage with third-party production vendors, manage the printing and delivery processes, and ensure the quality of all outputs.Provide art direction for asset creation projects, including video and photo shoots, ensuring the final products align with the brand vision.Stay current with industry trends, competitive research, and design best practices to continuously bring fresh and innovative ideas to the team.Delivers work on-time, on-budget and on-briefCan manage multiple projects at a time from concept through to completionEnsure the designs are aligned with usability and accessibility while ensuring use of emerging technologies and functionalitiesInspires creativity across all touchpoints and uses visual design to tell compelling and concise narratives to achieve Commercial business objectives, understanding that our customers are at the heart of our business
QualificationsMust have 3-5 years’ experience in similar position at a brand, creative agency or in a creative departmentBachelors’ Degree or Diploma in digital design, graphic design, graphicKnowledge of airline or cargo industry considered a plus Demonstrated flexibility with work assignments – working quickly, efficiently with minimal supervision, establishing priorities, and working effectively under pressure to meet tight and shifting priorities and timelines. Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in a wide range of media formats and design software technologies (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Digital Marketing platforms, Photoshop etc)Experience across multiple media formats and producing both dynamic and static assetsExperience with video editing software and production processes is a plusStrong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and feedback effectively to achieve the correct design solution.Experience in digital and print production/delivery tools, design-side platforms, and a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative tools, and digital asset managementA keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and effective designs.
