Overview
We are seeking experienced F-16 Avionics / Electrical & Environmental (E&E) Technicians to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft systems in both flight line and heavy maintenance environments.
This role is critical to ensuring aircraft are maintained in a safe, airworthy, and mission-ready condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on F-16 avionics, electrical, and ECS systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures across:
- Electrical and avionics systems
- Environmental Control Systems (ECS)
- Power generation and distribution systems
- Remove, repair, and replace:
- Wire harnesses, connectors, and LRUs
- Oxygen systems, bleed air, and air conditioning ducting
- Turbines, valves, and generators
- Interpret Air Force Technical Orders (T.O.s), schematics, and technical data
- Perform:
- Component repair, rebuild, and calibration
- System checks and inspections
- Line and heavy maintenance activities
- Complete and certify maintenance documentation
- Ensure proper:
- Tool control and safe work practices
- Part inspection, tagging, and certification
- Provide OJT and technical guidance to other technicians
- Perform independent checks and receiving inspections when authorized
Minimum Requirements
- USAF 5-Level (or equivalent) – Avionics / E&E
- Minimum 4+ years of F-16 avionics or E&E experience
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Aircraft electrical systems
- Avionics systems
- Environmental Control Systems (ECS)
- Experience with:
- Troubleshooting and fault isolation
- Technical orders and maintenance manuals
- Aircraft maintenance documentation
- Ability to:
- Work in high-tempo environments
- Meet deadlines and solve complex technical issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- USAF 7-Level (E&E or Avionics)
- Fighter aircraft maintenance background
- Experience in both flight line and heavy maintenance (MRO/RTS)
Certifications
- FAA A&P License – Required
(Will consider candidates able to obtain within 180 days of hire)
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s Degree preferred | Bachelor’s a plus
Work Environment
- Work performed in:
- Hangar and flight line environments
- Extreme weather conditions
- Exposure to:
- Noise, vibration, chemicals, and aircraft systems
- Must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in confined spaces and elevated areas
